Sessions - Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the session fee?

You will receive the high resolution jpeg files delivered via a personal gallery on my website. A full family session typically results in 30-40 photos.

How do I download my photos?

Click here for video and PDF instructions. :) When possible, it is recommended to download onto a laptop or desktop computer to maintain quality.

Will I get EVERY photo you take? How about RAW files?

The short answer is no. You absolutely will receive the best of everything I shoot but, I assure you, you do not want to see every single photo as there are many duplicates, blinks, etc. RAW files are never given out as they are not a final product.

How long before I receive my photos?

I do my best to provide 2-3 images within 48 hours of your session, I know waiting is tough! Your complete gallery is generally ready within two weeks.

Where do you recommend ordering prints from?

Pikto is my recommended option for high quality prints at a reasonable price and they are based in Toronto.  I do not recommend places such as Wal-Mart or Shoppers as they are poor quality and their machines run auto-enhancements that tend to change the way your photos look. If you do require a more budget-friendly option, Blacks is my suggestion though I cannot guarantee quality. I can also enable print ordering directly through your gallery so please ask if you would like help ordering prints.

What payment methods do you accept?

E-transfer is typically preferred however cash and cheque are also accepted. Credit card payment can be made available as well via your booking page.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, please! I love photographing our furry/feathered family members! In some instances certain locations may not allow pets (ex. lavender fields) however that will be clearly noted at time of booking. Generally speaking I try to shoot at pet friendly locations.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Overcast? Not to worry, a cloudy day is actually fabulous for photos! However, if we encounter inclement weather we will absolutely work together to reschedule.

What should we wear?

Goodness knows I am the last person to be giving fashion advice! In regards to how it impacts your photos - my biggest ask is that you try to stay away from neon/particularly bright clothing as it simply doesn't photograph well in typical outdoor settings. Also, be comfortable! Comfy, happy people always photograph well. :) Some families enjoy doing a theme of some sort which is great but don't feel you have to. Simply coordinating colours can be enough to tie everyone in, it doesn't have to be all jeans and white tops, etc. Have fun with it and don't hesitate to let your personalities show.

What if my children misbehave?

Meltdowns happen and it is nothing to stress about! I do my absolute best to create a casual, friendly, and welcoming environment. Sometimes the little ones are just not having it and that's okay. :) My general rule of thumb is to let the kids run the show and not force certain poses, etc. If it's a regular session we can take a bit of extra time to ensure we get some shots we're all happy with. My best advice is to just go with the flow, they almost always come around!
